always dreamed big. When I was six and learned to read, I announced I was going to grow up to be a book writer. It took me twenty years paying my overhead and dues as a journalist to land my first book on the shelves of a major bookstore. I wanted to be a mom . . . and I have three beautiful children who are the wellspring of my living.

Yes, a lot of the things I had envisioned are no longer, but I refuse to go into middle age without a fight, without new dreams.
